Indy, Daytona wins would be unique feat for Chip Ganassi

"We've had a significant run for the last couple of years and lot of victories," said Ganassi, whose two-Honda Indy manoeuvre is chasing its third consecutive championship while McMurray and Juan Pablo Montoya (who won Indy in 2000) aim for the work together's second consecutive appearance in NASCAR's Chase for the Sprint Cup.

"It's been very rewarding and we were justified a cup of ethanol away from three (titles) in a row, losing it to Dario when Scott ran out of fuel. Having said that, we in need of IndyCar racing to be bigger and better and we need to get relevant and show the (racing) effort and the car industry that we're a stable organization and that this is the place they can show their wares. It's up to the racers to show that."

That declaration is ironic in the light of Ganassi has no stake in auto retailing. But there's no doubting his philosophy of racing showing what cars and engines can do, be it Honda in available wheel, Chevrolet in NASCAR or BMW in sports cars.
