Variety to please all in Universal Live's May 16 auction

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – The suburban Chicago auction as a gift Universal Live will conduct a Sunday, May 16 auction featuring collectibles, antiques, coins, toys and neons, with Internet contemporary bidding through LiveAuctioneers.com. The sale will commence at 12 noon Central Spell/1 p.m. Eastern.

A diverse range of items will be offered in the 258-lot auction, including signed Leading man Wars posters, an original Lowenbrau advertising toy, Sylvania record gamester, Derrick Rose signed jersey, animation cels from Disney, Nickelodeon and Looney Tunes; and an array of crystal, cut plate glass and hand-painted vases. Additionally, the sale will feature art and coins – both U.S. and unknown.

A highlight of the pop culture category is an original 2005 poster for Star Wars Occurrence I: The Phantom Menace, signed by the legendary creator of Star Wars, George Lucas. The one-area poster features a nice collage of characters, including an ominous Darth Maul, and is boldly autographed with a baneful marker. It carries an estimate of $5,000-$6,000.
